Star symbols with Unicode code points
There are 15 five- and six-pointed star symbols. 8 of them come from one run of the Dingbats block (U+2729–U+2730):
| Star | Code point | Unicode name |
|---|---|---|
| ★ | U+2605 | Black star |
| ☆ | U+2606 | White star |
| ✩ | U+2729 | Stress outlined white star |
| ✪ | U+272A | Circled white star |
| ✫ | U+272B | Open centre black star |
| ✬ | U+272C | Black centre white star |
| ✭ | U+272D | Outlined black star |
| ✮ | U+272E | Heavy outlined black star |
| ✯ | U+272F | Pinwheel star |
| ✰ | U+2730 | Shadowed white star |
| ⚝ | U+269D | Outlined white star |
| ⍟ | U+235F | APL functional symbol circle star |
| ❂ | U+2742 | Circled open centre eight pointed star |
| ✡ | U+2721 | Star of David |
| ☪ | U+262A | Star and crescent |
In Unicode naming, "black" means filled and "white" means outlined, so ★ (U+2605) is the filled star and ☆ (U+2606) is the outline. ✡ and ☪ are religious symbols, Star of David and star and crescent, and read as such to anyone who sees them.

There are 14 sparkle symbols, which are four-pointed or many-pointed stars used as glints:

| ⁂ | U+2042 | Asterism |
| ˚ | U+02DA | Ring above (used as a tiny sparkle) |
| ⊹ | U+22B9 | Hermitian conjugate matrix |
| ˖ | U+02D6 | Modifier letter plus sign |
The text sparkles ✦ and ✧ stay in the text colour. The sparkles emoji ✨ (U+2728) shares the Dingbats block but displays as yellow colour sparkles on every major platform. ˚, ⊹ and ˖ are tiny accents taken from phonetic and mathematical blocks, which is why sparkle trails like ⊹ ࣪ ˖ look lighter than ✧.
Small star symbols
There are 6 small stars that sit at or below the middle of the line:
The star operator ⋆ (U+22C6) is the most common small star in aesthetic text. It comes from the Mathematical Operators block, so screen readers announce it as "star operator". ⭑ and ⭒ (U+2B51, U+2B52) come from the Miscellaneous Symbols and Arrows block, added in Unicode 5.1 in 2008.
Star emoji
There are 10 star and sparkle emoji, all displayed in colour:
⭐ (U+2B50) is a single code point, while ✴️ and ❇️ are a text symbol plus the emoji variation selector U+FE0F, so they count as 2 characters on platforms that count code points.
Aesthetic star combos and dividers
There are 17 star combinations for frames, separators and bio decoration:
Some combos use combining marks (◌͙, ◌̩) and Arabic and Syriac marks such as ݁ and ࣪ to place tiny dots above or below a character. These marks attach to the character before them, so a combo can look different when pasted after another character. Longer dividers made from lines and stars are on the text borders copy and paste page.
Stars with fancy text
Stars frame styled text in the Y2K look, for example ☆彡 𝙻𝚞𝚗𝚊 彡☆. The Y2K font generator adds these frames automatically, and the heart symbol copy and paste page has hearts that pair with sparkles in cute bios. The aesthetic symbols copy and paste collection lists every symbol category on one page.
